How to dock Inspect?

Dock the DevTools panel at the bottom for better visibility and smoother testing.

For the best experience while using BarrierBreak A11yInspect, it’s recommended to dock the Inspect (DevTools) panel at the bottom of the browser window. This layout provides better visibility to view the source code and track webpage changes during accessibility testing.

Steps to Dock Inspect

  1. Open a webpage in your browser (Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Mozilla Firefox).
  2. Open Inspect.
  3. In the DevTools window, select the Customize and Control DevTools menu (the three-dot icon in the top-right corner).
  4. Depending on your browser:
    • Google Chrome: Under Dock side, choose Dock to bottom.
    • Microsoft Edge: Under Dock Location, choose Dock to bottom.
    • Mozilla Firefox: Click Dock to bottom.

The Inspect panel will now appear at the bottom of the screen, allowing you to view both the webpage and the underlying code simultaneously while running A11yInspect tests.

note

The exact menu names may vary slightly between browsers, but the option to dock DevTools to the bottom is available in all.
