Overview​

The A11yInspect v1.3.6 release introduces key enhancements focused on scalability, flexibility, and accuracy. This update improves how large volumes of data are exported, expands guideline selection options for testing, refines bookmarklet behavior, and significantly reduces false positives across critical accessibility validation flows.

What’s New & Enhanced​

Batch Export of Screenshots​

  • Added support for exporting a large number of screenshots in batches from the A11yInspect extension to the A11yNow dashboard.
  • This enhancement improves performance and reliability when working with pages that generate a high volume of accessibility issues.
  • Helps teams manage exports efficiently without timeouts or interruptions.

Enhanced Guideline Selection​

  • Introduced a Guideline selection dropdown, allowing users to choose the set of accessibility guidelines against which a page is tested.
  • For Enterprise plan users, custom guidelines are now available alongside default guidelines.
  • This enables more tailored testing aligned with organizational or project-specific accessibility requirements.

Improved Bookmarklet Alerts​

  • Updated alert messages across all bookmarklets to provide clearer feedback when a bookmarklet is not detected on the page.
  • Improves usability by helping users quickly understand why a bookmarklet action did not execute.

Target Size Bookmarklet Improvements​

  • Refactored the Target Size bookmarklet logic to improve consistency and accuracy in detecting target size related accessibility issues.
  • Reduces incorrect flagging and ensures more reliable results.

False Positive Handling Enhancements​

Several validation flows have been refined to improve result accuracy:

1. Checkbox Flow

  • Enhanced detection logic to reduce false positives caused by checkboxes nested within table structures.

2. Table Flow

  • Enhanced empty table header validation to reduce false positives that occurred when empty table headers were not present.
